Anna and Tyler describe themselves as fun, active and comfortable. Their wedding at The Margate Resort was all of that and much more. They choose the Margate because of the history it holds for them both together and even before they had met. Anna grew up visiting the resort and Lake Winnipesaukee and had always dreamed of getting married there so when she and Tyler met at her family’s lakehouse just across the water of Winnipesaukee, it was meant to be. Anna and Tyler just FIT together, they strengthen each other in everything they do and really strive to make their relationship a priority. You’ll find them hiking with their dogs, hanging out at the lake, entertaining their friends and family or even just sitting at home relaxing with a movie together but everything they do you can just see they cherish every minute together. Tyler even pulled off the proposal with their recently adopted puppy Harley by hiding the ring on his collar for Anna to find. What he didn’t count on was having to chase the puppy to retrieve the ring so he could actually pop the question!
I couldn’t wait to get there for their wedding day. Driving to any wedding I always get a little nervous. No matter how many years I’ve photographed weddings I have never shaken the feeling of importance and the honor of being chosen to capture one of the biggest days in my clients’ lives and I never want to miss something valuable to them. Anna and Tyler’s was no different and I rushed to get there as soon as possible, I always calm down once I begin shooting. As I arrived to the hotel room Anna, even without her hair finished, looked like she walked off a movie set. She was glowing with excitement and happiness and was surrounded by her best friends. As she finished her hair, makeup and finishing touches she put on her dress and it looked like it was made for her. Every inch fit her perfectly and put the whole package together as everyone tried to choke back tears as they saw her.
Her’s (and her Dad’s) smile as they made their way down to the lakeside ceremony said everything about how special this day was. As the ducks crossed their path and they made their way to Tyler, HIS face was priceless. The love of his life was finally walking down the aisle to him to begin their married life together. There may have been a slight delay in their vows due to a bee wanting to be part of their day but the comedy just added to the spirit of the day and things moved along.
After the ceremony the winds kicked up and the black clouds were rolling in so we quickly got some outside shots of everyone with wind in their hair and just as we entered the hall the skies opened. Perfect timing if I’ve every seen it! Their night was perfect from there… amazing food, beautiful cupcakes, a little bit of cake on the bride and groom’s faces and a ton of fun and dancing for all!
