“Like a river flows surely to the sea
Darling so it goes
Some things are meant to be
Take my hand, take my whole life too
For I can’t help falling in love with you
For I can’t help falling in love with you”
Eric and Angela are one of the most adventurous couples I know. I’ve had pleasure of knowing Eric for years through 4×4 racing and even though I’ve only known Angela a little while, it feels like I’ve known her forever and they’re an absolutely perfect fit. I was SO excited to be their wedding photographer when they asked. They are both just so easy going, down to earth and fun! For their engagement session, they took me to a few of Eric’s favorite photo spots (He’s an amazing photographer himself) and it just felt like hanging out. Their wedding day was one of the most beautiful (and laid back) that I’ve ever been to. From the perfect venue at Red Apple Farm to Angela’s AWESOME dance moves and impromptu commentary when coming back down the aisle after the ceremony, everything was just. so. THEM. The song that Angela walked down the aisle to was played by her brother, the officiant her aunt, the center stone of her ring is Eric’s Grandmother’s, they had wedding pictures of their parent’s and grandparents hanging inside the reception… all these small touches made everything feel so intimate and truly one of a kind.
HOW THEY MET
Angela and Eric met in Northampton, MA – It was actually 2 am on Valentines Day 2016. After being out for drinks separately with friends, both groups decided to head to Local Burger to satisfy some drunk munchies after last call. Angela walked in with a giraffe (guy dressed up in a giraffe onesie) and Eric just had to take a picture with the giraffe. So, Angela, Eric and the giraffe posed for a picture together in line without talking or knowing who the other was. After the giraffe left, Eric came and talked to Angela for about 10 minutes before Angela left. Luckily he had a smile cute enough to get her phone number before she left, asked her out on a date a few days later, and the rest is history.
THE PROPOSAL
On October 8th, 2017 in Erving, MA – They had wanted to go on a hike that day but it ended up being on and off rain. Eric was thinking maybe he would wait for a better day. While we were having our morning coffee, Angela decided to look through some old things in a bag from her grandmother’s house who had passed away a couple months earlier. In it, she had forgotten that there was a wishbone she saved and so she made her and Eric pull it. The wishbone split completely down the middle and they were shocked. Eric took that as a sign and convinced Angela to go on a hike since the rain had pretty much stopped. So they went on a hike in Erving and at a beautiful lookout spot, Eric broke out his camera and set it up to take a picture of them. As the camera went off, he got down on one knee and proposed!
